You’ll descend from the mountains and head to the coastline that you had been looking at during your time in the mountains.

You have a choice to visit the quiet beach town of Uvita, home to a beautiful national park or Dominical, the surfing capital of the south. After two nights on the southern central Pacific Coast, you will take a boat through the mangroves to the Osa Peninsula where you will spend 4 days exploring Corcovado National Park and Isla del Caño before returning to San Jose via an in-country flight.

Suggested 9-Day Costa Rica Spirit Trekker Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in San Jose & Transfer to the Mountains

After your arrival at SJO Airport, a private driver will transport you south toward the mountains near Dominical. Depending on your arrival time, you’ll either stay near the trailhead or start your trek into the jungle for your first night.

Days 2-3: Jungle Trekking, Waterfall Adventures & Open-Air Cave Stay

Awaken to the sounds of the rainforest and enjoy breakfast before beginning a 2-3 hour hike through the lush jungle. You’ll arrive at an open-air cave set behind cascading waterfalls, where you’ll spend two days filled with adventure. Days 4-5: Beach Time in Uvita or Dominical

Day 6: Boat Ride to Drake Bay

After breakfast, travel by motorboat through the mangrove forests to the Osa Peninsula, one of the most biodiverse regions in the world. Your eco-lodge at Drake Bay will serve as your homebase for exploring the surrounding jungle and beaches. Spend the afternoon unwinding and enjoying your stunning natural surroundings.

Day 7: Isla del Caño Snorkeling or Scuba Diving

Today’s adventure takes you to Isla del Caño, a biological reserve just off Drake Bay. Snorkel or scuba dive among vibrant marine life, including turtles, tropical fish, and even whales or sharks if you’re lucky. This unique island experience includes lunch on a nearby beach.

Day 8: Guided Exploration of Corcovado National Park
